The development from bullock carts to shiny cars,from letters to emails,from human messengers to phones,from writing to typing and from calculators to computers,can really make somebody feel envious of our journey towards development.We have really marched into this new glittering world of technology very
rapidly.And we are all enjoying this race,or at least are in delusion.
So pardon me if i tell to take a pause and ponder.Where are we going?why are we running?or more fundamentally ,what do we actually want from life?
The main reason behind the advancement of technology and making new discoveries was to make life more simple and luxurious for people.The general perception
was that it would save our (people) time and effort.And It indeed has saved our lot of time and extravagant effort.But then what have people done with the
time,that has been saved by the use of technology?The answer ought to be that now they enjoy more leisure and work in a relaxed environment.
But when I start observing today's life I find the answer quite contradictory.Nowadays People are working more than ever.Everybody is running relentlessly in this rat race just for the sake of survival.I don't know how life became so complex.We can not deny the fact that we are living in a digitally connected
world,yet people have never been less connected.We have come in contact with every corner of the world ,but simultaneously have lost contact with our own
neighbors. Why?
Every coin has two sides.And we certainly seem to be on the wrong side,as far as modern technology usage is concerned.Machines were meant to be run by our instructions but now they control our lives.We need to decide its course.See the life of any metropoliton city.People are always running.They do earn a
handsome salary but the cost that they pay is invaluable.They lose their life in lieu of money.They dont have time for their kids and families. Infact they don't have time even for themselves.And one fine morning when they look back they find nothing.
So wake up !!!Don't get into delusion !!!Don't run blindly after money !!!money can buy lot of things but not happiness!!!Don't fall into this trap.Life is all about living ,not about wasting it preparing to die...!!!
Here I would like to recite a stanza of a hindi poem that really grabbed my attention when i first read it long back....And it really made me think !!!!
